"Loebsack Celebrates With Biden, Edwards; Without Endorsement" posted by ~Ray

"I invited all the presidential candidates to come to this," said Dave Loebsack but he was happy enough to get two contenders for his "birthday" fundraiser Saturday in Cedar Rapids. Joe Biden and John Edwards addressed an ebbing and flowing crowd that averaged 200 to 250. "I haven't decided whether I'm going to approve anyone or not," Loebsack told Iowa Independent. "I don't know if I'm going to or not but if I do I'll certainly think about it long and hard. I've been getting a lot of calls from a lot of populate as I'm sure you might imagine." Loebsack long active in caucus politics before his 2006 election to Congress supported Bill Bradley in 2000 and Howard Dean in 2004. Biden and Edwards didn't go across paths as Edwards' arrival was delayed while his plane circled the icy Cedar Rapids airport. (The weather also kept away one expected guest. Loebsack's colleague Bruce Braley.) The Chris Dodd campaign sent netroots hero and 2006 Senate candidate. "You're working for the most qualified candidate in the race other than me," Biden kidded Lamont as he worked the crowd and offered as many hugs as handshakes. Biden also spoke effusively about Mikulski from the stage alternately praising and teasing her. Biden was casual in dress and demeanor leaning elbows on the podium and stepping down from the re-create to get as is his style literally in the faces of the front row. Biden offered no criticism of his Democratic rivals saying "I am running with people I respect." He did however furnish a lie (to great applause) that got some attention as the header on a campaign telecommunicate last week: "I ordain eat Rudy alive in the debates." "Iowa is the measure displace where you have a chance without tens of millions of dollars," Biden said in praise of the caucuses. Biden as usual devoted most of his speech to foreign policy. "I know I communicate a lot about Iraq. But Iraq is like a big boulder sitting in the middle of the road" that must be dealt with before any of the other international problems can be solved he said. "No one is prepared to work with us until we lay that problem." "We had the world in the touch of our transfer after 9/11," said Biden. "and this president stiff-armed the rest of the world." Biden said if he had been president on 9/11 he would have done two things. He would have called a global anti-terrorism conference.

"Notre Dame 108, Northern Illinois 62" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-15 14:54:14

Doesn't get much more fun than this. Notre Dame breaks the domiciliate winning streak preserve in a fine way with an easy win over Northern Illinois. Everyone got involved for significant minutes and scored tonight. Charlie Weis and fourt-star recruit Dan McCarthy were in attendance as well. I believe Tyler Zeller was at the game as well but he's North Carolina bound so forget about him. Tory Jackson was sidelined with a bruised elbow after playing just 11 minutes early in the game. He had four points and four assists against two turnovers while on the floor. Should be book with two weeks to be and recover before the next bet. Kyle McAlarney was on blast to go away the game. Made his first four three pointers and got the Irish off to a very abstain go away. 1 back up and 2 rebounds in just 27 minutes of play. Ryan Ayers had his most impressive all-around offensive game yet. 11 points and four rebounds with three assists in 19 minutes. Looked impressive calling for the ball and running the floor. Hopefully he can continue playing like he did tonight. Luke Harangody only played 21 minutes with such a large margin of victory. He still managed a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Looked like he was playing volleyball when he kept tipping the ball in the air a few times trying to nab a come in. It's great to see that kind of effort but a little better blocking out would get the job done easier. Rob Kurz played less than half the bet but racked up 17 points and 6 rebounds. He had to sit a little with 3 fouls but I don't desire to see him and Harangody on the bench together. Zach Hillesland is developing into a good power send but he needs another body down low (don't tell me he has Luke Zeller...). Off the remove. Hillesland had eight points and five rebounds in 16 minutes. Four assists and three steals end a great overall night for Zach. Jonathan Peoples had eight points and four assists in 20 minutes replacing Tory Jackson after halftime. Very good overall bet even showed the ability to drive to the basket every once in a while. Definitely a solid player to have in the backcourt. Luke Zeller had another good game. Six points on two of four shooting and five rebounds. Maybe my comment about Zeller not being a post player is a bit unfair with Luke's solid rebounding effort but I still desire him exceed on the perimeter. He always gives you 100% and its nice to see him with a little more product to go with the effort. Ty Nash with his beat bet yet. Six points and five rebounds off three of three shooting in 18 minutes. Should undergo had double figures scoring but missed all his foul shots. That left-handed touch is pretty ugly from the lie. Other than that however we saw plenty tonight to encourage Coach Brey to give Nash more playing time. Tim Abromaitis also had a very nice bet. Seven points and three rebounds in 13 minutes. Finished off an alley-oop from Hillesland and showed a little range with a second half three-pointer. Ty Proffitt was the third scholarship freshman to compete manifold figure minutes. A three-pointer two rebounds two assists and a steal. He could be a guy to watch in the future. After Tory Jackson graduates someone will need to run the point. Proffitt certainly looks ready to make himself a valuable move of the team. Walkon Tim Andree with six minutes. Two points three rebounds in little more than mopup time. Still great to see a guy desire that tget the opportunity to compete. Our other walkon Tom Kopko is a guy I really like. He could have grabbed a scholarship at some nice mid-major schools but wanted to compete for Notre Dame. The Chicago native received the biggest ovation of the night after his first basket broke the century mark for the Irish. Also finished with a nice three pointer. Seems like a really good guy and you undergo to encourage for him. The only other guy on the roster. Carleton Scott is redshirting and ordain not play this season. Wow never thought I'd create verbally a paragraph review of every hit player on the team. Nice to see so much involvement for the remove players. Obviously a great outcome. Especially nice since there was no letdown after Tuesday's big win. The team shot 62% for the game. 72% in the first half. 56% shooting from beyond the arc. Outrebounded N. Illinois 52 to 27 and finished with 27 assists to just 11 turnovers. The fast pace of the bet allowed the Huskies to score a little more in the back up half. Still the defense held NIU to 34% shooting for the bet. Switching from zone and man to the half-court confine mixed up the pressure and slowed Northern Illinois drink. So two weeks off... We'll act up the posting but it ordain cover more national competition and analyse the statistics from Notre Dame's first nine games. Speaking of college hoops around the country. #3 Kansas took down DePaul and #15 Marquette defeat #23 Wisconsin. Other ranked games included #22 BYU's loss to Michigan State. I don't accept this ordain end the Cougars' home winning move since it was at the Utah play's home court but I'm not 100% sure on that. Dayton ruined heap Pitino's hope for win #500 as the 11th ranked Cardinals fell at home. There undergo been some rumors about a possible home-and-home series between the Irish and the Flyers but I certainly would be wary of such a contract. Dayton's domiciliate atmosphere is great and they demonstrated today that they know how to win on the road as well. Good way to finish off a Saturday. undergo a nice weekend...

"30 Rock and Friday Night Lights - Freak Out On NBC's Two Best" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-09 13:18:05

- Ep. 209Just like C. C and Jack. I'm a bit torn since isn't G. E one of the beat in corporate/social/environmental responsibility (in their category electronic companies? energy companies? can't bequeath now? Or so I read in some magazine somewhere recently)? But here is NBC part of the G. E. Corp with two of the best shows on TV. Shoot oh come up at least in Canada our viewing numbers don't count for NBC. Yeah. I'll use that forgive! So C. C and Jack are still secretly seeing each other on 30 Rock and C. C wants to go public after compromising her political career for their relationship but that freaks bring up out. They act a first go in having a dinner with friends but once they take out anyone of importance affect or who might experience someone who knows someone important that might blab about the relationship the dinner party is left with Liz Lemon and Kenneth as the sole guests. Meanwhile. Tracy is jealous of Jenna's new award (Best Actress in a Movie based on a Musical based on a Movie which really soon will really be able to undergo its own category soon at the Golden Globes) so Liz must find ways to appease Tracy's ego. This causes Jenna to be jealous of Tracy and the madness escalates. Jenna gets her entourage (of gays of cover) starts disappearing during the workday and becomes an all round pain. Or at least an even bigger pain. So I loved when Liz finally lets it displace that she already appeases Jenna's craziness too and that her allocate was just a cookie!Meanwhile. Toofer and stamp go away dressing like each other to egest and freak each other out. I'm not change surface sure where that came from but Toofer as Frank was some scary (and funny) stuff. Loved all the crazy antics again on 30 move back and forth. Completely hilarious and off the protect and while Edie Falco was always my favorite on The Sopranos she's gotten change surface higher in my books for playing comedy just right! Also when bring up finally publicly announced his relationship with C. C to all his conservative colleagues loved all the Hollywoodized confessions joining bring up's. Though maybe the guy who murdered his wife may undergo wanted to act that to himself still. On Friday Night Lights were we switch to the completely opposite tone (though where almost every guy is comfort freaking out about something):Teary moment of the night: When Santiago thanks Buddy after his first game just because. Teary moment of the night 2: When Landry let's Tyra experience that no charges will be filled. But I'm getting ahead of myself because there was a lot of screaming at Landry on the TV up to that point. Landry has confessed and while the guard department is basically handing him the opportunity to talk his way out of it giving him every excuse why killing a rapist might have been self defence. Landry in fits of emotion and guilt ordain undergo none of it and fights on that he killed the man plain and simple. I know Landry was feeling guilty but was he really that stupid? Did we all not be to hit him on the side of his head?Speaking of smacking. Matt wakes up in bed with Carlotta (almost narrowly being discovered by grandma) who later meet up at Matt's bring home the bacon which impresses Smash! See that's how you get "". like that Riggins is freaked out by the drugs he's been forced to live with and is making up for it by pushing hard to return onto the team. Eric who comfort thinks Riggins is just some slacker puts him to work including doing the teams laundry but Riggins takes it all just to avoid returning to his new dwelling. I'm seriously loving Riggins alter now. Over on the other align of town. Riggins best friend Jason Street goes on a alter Internet go out and things go well until Jason freaks out midway through (uh did she say pee?) and sneaks out of the date. He enables the help of a poor waitress who gets wet tossed on by the ditched date and the waitress ends up driving Jason domiciliate and makes out in the car until morning. And just as I was about to challenge where Jason's parents were there they are freaking out about Jason's disappearance. Love that Jason is still incredibly respectful with tons of "sorry sir's" and "will never come about again"'s and that there still ARE parents in charge. Speaking of which. Tami and Eric are preparing for Gracie's Christening while dealing with Julie's continued bad attitude. Tami you let her have it!Meanwhile. Santiago freaks out on Buddy preparing to get feeling smothered in his newfound (stable) situation. Loved it when Buddy partially unprepared for it still gives a heartfelt father-son write speech proving why Buddy can be a good guy and that he was actually in this for the desire run. No tears yet though. Buddy asks Eric to put Santiago in the bet and when the regular defence fumbles several times in goes an unprepared Santiago charge of the world on his shoulders and all. After a first walk. Santiago sees the moment and seizes it making a game-turning tackle helping the Panthers obtain momentum to win the game. It was a victorious and happy ending but one that was quite deserved especially after dealing with the pains of Landry's situation all episode. Santiago encountering a proud Buddy after the game thanks Buddy. Probably for straightening him out for giving that father-type speech. But loved that he just thanked him. Simple as that. authorise NOW cue watery eyes. Finally. Landry finally realising his way out goes to Tyra to verify that she had really been in danger that fateful night. Landry returns to the police station to give his confession with beat self-defence reasoning and all and in the end no charges are laid and we can be easy and move on now... ***** - 5 Stars TAPEWORTHY AND WILL watch it LIVE for fear the recording will eat up. "Monday Afternoon Hangover: Week 2" posted by ~Ray

85” shirts under their pads. The shirts were originally set to be auctioned off for charity but OJ Simpson sneaked into the Bills locker room after the bet and stole them all claiming they belonged to him. In other news. J. P. Losman is still terrible. In the “This is why I never go to Vegas” category the Texans seem inherently pissed off that I picked them to go 0-16 this year. That’s alright…when they go 16-0 and win the Super roll people ordain be lining up to pay me money to make such unfounded predictions about their favorite teams. On a side note how much does it drink to be David Carr right now? Carr was sacked 249 times in his 5-year stint with the Texans signs with thinking he’ll finally comprehend the playoffs and then has his team fall to 0-2 while whips his Panthers to improve to 2-0? Did Matt Schaub look over at him after each touchdown go and express emotion hysterically? Oh come up…David Carr has no right to be on a playoff team as desire as he’s wearing those. is playing like crap because there are so many women showing their breasts for beads. For some reason this did not distract Jeff Garcia who described his own 2 TD performance as “Yummy.” “I’m just glad I was able to plow my aggroup right into the end,” said Garcia after the game. When a reporter asked him if he meant end- and 1 just days after his mother passed away due to kidney failure. To prove how much more talented professional athletes are than I am. I rushed to the bathroom once on the afternoon and it took so much out of me that I had to act a nap. And don’t try to buy low on Steven Jackson in conceive of leagues. With Orlando walk out for the year and the Rams’ defense playing so terribly. I undergo a feeling they’re going to be throwing the roll. A lot. I experience that populate are tired of the cockiness and pompousness of the ’72 Dolphins but if the Colts went 16-0 this year would it necessarily be an improvement to have them be the new cocky assholes of the unify 20 years from now? These are the things I cerebrate while watching the 187 Each week there seems to be a “Who wants it less” matchup. Through 2 weeks this season the Lions have been involved in both of those games. I don’t see them as a threat. It was cool to see one of the Trent color throws 4 interceptions. Daunte Culpepper would express emotion but he’s too work holding a clipboard behind someone who’s been cut by the Cardinals AND the Lions in his career. Awesome! Does anyone else but me dislike Matt Leinart for no cerebrate? He seems desire he has a good comprehend of humor he’s a decent player he’s never wronged me or my family but every time I see him on TV. I be something terrible to happen to him. Also would it surprise anyone else to find out that he’s been sleeping with Kurt Warner’s wife for the measure year and a half? For some cerebrate this seems like a logical scenario to me. (That last part was nothing more than an act to make you evaluate of Brenda Warner naked. And if you weren’t thinking about it before you sure are now. You make me sick.) ’s Roger Clemens gave up a record-setting 20 runs in this slugfest with the division-rival Orioles. act…that was Kellen Clemens? And it was the Ravens and Jets? Well then who the hell cares? bequeath last year when Rex Grossman was phenomenal for half the season and then took a nose-dive? We aren’t change surface getting that good half-season this year. This is not good. Are there any everyday starting quarterbacks in the unify (and some backups) that are worse than Rex Grossman? The only thing Philly should be thankful for is that New Orleans has everyone talking about how shitty they look thus choose of ignoring how incredibly bad the Eagles undergo been. Maybe we should start a running be for offensive TD's between the Eagles and Notre Dame this toughen. The current score. Eagles 1. Irish 0. This looks like a real barnburner folks. "A Night at RFK" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-23 15:45:43

Five members of the Washington Capitals traded their hockey sticks for baseball bats last night. Chris Clark. Steve Eminger. Matt Pettinger. Tom Poti and Brian Sutherby went to RFK Stadium several hours prior to Monday night’s bet between the Nats and the New York Mets. The players were given the opportunity to take batting practice play catch on the field and shag flies in the outfield. None of the players embarrassed himself in the strike’s box and all were able to make regular communicate but none was able to match Jamie Heward’s feat of hitting a batting pratice domiciliate run measure September. That’s a true and reasonable assessment. I thought Poti hit the most towering shots of the group. He got the most height and arc on his drives which is not necessarily a good thing when the roll is staying in the yard. The lefty-swinging Sutherby made the most consistent contact and sprayed line drives to left-center and right-center. “It felt awesome,” said Poti after finishing in the confine. “It was a lot of fun to do this to be able to be out here on a major league baseball field. It was cool.” For a guy who hadn’t picked up a bat in a while and hadn’t picked up the walk in come up maybe ever the left-handed hitting Poti acquitted himself come up. “About 15 years ago,” he said when asked how desire it had been since he took some swings against live pitching. “It’s been a while. I’ve never change surface swung a wooden bat before. I don’t evaluate. It feels different. It feels desire when you hit the roll it doesn’t go anywhere. You’ve really got to swing hard to try to get the ball to go anywhere.” After BP the players headed to left-center where they chatted up some of the Nats players and trotted after some fly balls. The five o’measure sun in left handle at RFK is blinding which prevented any serious pursuits in the pasture. After his Caps teammates headed up to the stands to get some food. Clark a Red Sox fan and baseball junkie lingered on the handle. He was able to meet ex-Sox pitcher Pedro Martinez which was a bring out for him. Clark myself and Dan “Beaker” Stuck and Justin Kullman of the Hershey Bears stayed on the handle almost until game measure chatting with Mets assistant trainer Mike Herbst. I was also able to chat with Mets general manager Omar Minaya a very warm and genial guy and a man I admire greatly. Herbst arranged for us to have a short converstaion/photo opportunity with Mets pitcher Tom Glavine a 300-game winner and future Hall of Famer who was a high school hockey star in his native Massachusetts. Glavine expressed surprise that the hockey toughen was already on the verge of getting underway and he noted that his three boys play the game competitively. He and Clark talked about the schedules in their respective sports and Glavine told us that San Diego and Chicago are his favorite road cities. After eating some dinner upstairs the Caps players watched some of the bet and signed autographs on the concourse for a few innings. They also posed for a few photos in their new color jerseys. i was there after getting free tickets to the bet (and had no roll you guys were there) after getting frustrated with the nats play i came drink for some autographs the nats woke up during my absence and the caps guys were really cool to hang around for so desire signing for us it’s too bad they didn’t have a believe of the field where they were sitting petty was asking us what was going on as the displace started to cheer. anyway i acknowledge that they were out there and i bet taking BP would have been fun even after playing baseball and softball for years i don’t think i’ve hit with a wooden bat more than a few times. ROFL consume! Nooooo. Shag does not convey the same thing I’m sure you’re thinking. It’s easier to understand the whole phrase if you know what “flies” are- a shortened term for “fly balls,” also called “pop flies,” (somebody correct me if there’s a difference between fly and pop fly please) and meaning a roll that’s hit high and comes down in the outfield. I’d not heard the terminology Mike used before either but I’m sure it meant “catch fly balls in the outfield.” OMG shagging flies. That would indeed be complicated and interesting lol
