This week the Bush appointed Treasury Secretary sat before the United States Congress and asked for a "line of credit" to keep the country from falling deeper into a recession (the same recession that up until about a week ago BushCo denied we were in). To me he looked like the proverbial rich kid who spent all of his hefty allowance wrecked the family car and is now asking dad to give him the credit card. I think he should be grounded and sent to his room. This crisis was in part created by the former Goldman Sachs-CEO. In his last report at Goldman Sachs. Paulson received a compensation package of $38 million. Also yesterday. John McCain the Republican presidential candidate said he is "suspending" his campaign in order to focus on the economic crisis. Apparently doing more than one thing at a time is too taxing for the elder statesman. Yet I see a deeper and much more sinister game plan starting to take shape. There will be no presidential debates and ultimately no election all based on this man-made disaster called the failing economy. Rumours have circulated also that if Obama is not elected the Bush Administration foresees rampant public outrage. There will be chaos and fighting in the streets. Therefore we come to the next news item. You tell me do these disparate factors have anything in common? The end of preventing U. S. Army operations inside the United States. Read the Army Times article Brigade homeland tours start Oct. 13rd Infantry’s 1st BCT trains for a new dwell-time mission. Helping ‘people at home’ may become a permanent part of the active ArmyBy Gina Cavallaro - Staff writerPosted : Monday Sep 8. 2008 6:15:06 EDTThe 3rd Infantry Division’s 1st Brigade Combat Team has spent 35 of the last 60 months in Iraq patrolling in full battle rattle helping restore essential services and escorting supply convoys. Now they’re training for the same mission — with a twist — at home. Beginning Oct. 1 for 12 months the 1st BCT will be under the day-to-day control of U. S. Army North the Army service component of Northern Command as an on-call federal response force for natural or manmade emergencies and disasters including terrorist attacks. It is not the first time an active-duty unit has been tapped to help at home. In August 2005 for example when Hurricane Katrina unleashed hell in Mississippi and Louisiana several active-duty units were pulled from various posts and mobilized to those areas. But this new mission marks the first time an active unit has been given a dedicated assignment to NorthCom a joint command established in 2002 to provide command and control for federal homeland defense efforts and coordinate defense support of civil authorities. After 1st BCT finishes its dwell-time mission expectations are that another as yet unnamed active-duty brigade will take over and that the mission will be a permanent one.“Right now the response force requirement will be an enduring mission. How the [Defense Department] chooses to source that and whether or not they continue to assign them to NorthCom that could change in the future,” said Army Col. Louis Vogler chief of NorthCom future operations. “Now the plan is to assign a force every year.”The command is at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs. Colo. but the soldiers with 1st BCT who returned in April after 15 months in Iraq will operate out of their home post at Fort Stewart. Ga. where they’ll be able to go to school spend time with their families and train for their new homeland mission as well as the counterinsurgency mission in the war zones. Stop-loss will not be in effect so soldiers will be able to leave the Army or move to new assignments during the mission and the operational tempo will be variable. Don’t look for any extra time off though. The at-home mission does not take the place of scheduled combat-zone deployments and will take place during the so-called dwell time a unit gets to reset and regenerate after a deployment. The 1st of the 3rd is still scheduled to deploy to either Iraq or Afghanistan in early 2010 which means the soldiers will have been home a minimum of 20 months by the time they ship out. In the meantime they’ll learn new skills use some of the ones they acquired in the war zone and more than likely will not be shot at while doing any of it. They may be called upon to help with civil unrest and crowd control or to deal with potentially horrific scenarios such as massive poisoning and chaos in response to a chemical biological radiological nuclear or high-yield explosive or CBRNE attack. Training for homeland scenarios has already begun at Fort Stewart and includes specialty tasks such as knowing how to use the “jaws of life” to extract a person from a mangled vehicle; extra medical training for a CBRNE incident; and working with U. S. Forestry Service experts on how to go in with chainsaws and cut and clear trees to clear a road or area. The 1st BCT’s soldiers also will learn how to use “the first ever nonlethal package that the Army has fielded,” 1st BCT commander Col. Roger Cloutier said referring to crowd and traffic control equipment and nonlethal weapons designed to subdue unruly or dangerous individuals without killing them.“It’s a new modular package of nonlethal capabilities that they’re fielding. They’ve been using pieces of it in Iraq but this is the first time that these modules were consolidated and this package fielded and because of this mission we’re undertaking we were the first to get it.”The package includes equipment to stand up a hasty road block; spike strips for slowing stopping or controlling traffic; shields and batons; and beanbag bullets.“I was the first guy in the brigade to get Tasered,” said Cloutier describing the experience as “your worst muscle cramp ever — times 10 throughout your whole body.“I’m not a small guy. I weigh 230 pounds.. it put me on my knees in seconds.”The brigade will not change its name but the force will be known for the next year as a CBRNE Consequence Management Response Force or CCMRF (pronounced “sea-smurf”).“I can’t think of a more noble mission than this,” said Cloutier who took command in July. “We’ve been all over the world during this time of conflict but now our mission is to take care of citizens at home.. and depending on where an event occurred you’re going home to take care of your home town your loved ones.”While soldiers’ combat training is applicable he said some nuances don’t apply.“If we go in we’re going in to help American citizens on American soil to save lives provide critical life support help clear debris restore normalcy and support whatever local agencies need us to do so it’s kind of a different role,” said Cloutier who as the division operations officer on the last rotation learned of the homeland mission a few months ago while they were still in Iraq. Some brigade elements will be on call around the clock during which time they’ll do their regular marksmanship gunnery and other deployment training. That’s because the unit will continue to train and reset for the next deployment even as it serves in its CCMRF mission. Should personnel be needed at an earthquake in California for example all or part of the brigade could be scrambled there depending on the extent of the need and the specialties involved. Other branches includedThe active Army’s new dwell-time mission is part of a NorthCom and DOD response package. Active-duty soldiers will be part of a force that includes elements from other military branches and dedicated National Guard Weapons of Mass Destruction-Civil Support Teams. A final mission rehearsal exercise is scheduled for mid-September at Fort Stewart and will be run by Joint Task Force Civil Support a unit based out of Fort Monroe. Va. that will coordinate and evaluate the interservice event. In addition to 1st BCT other Army units will take part in the two-week training exercise including elements of the 1st Medical Brigade out of Fort Hood. Texas and the 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade from Fort Bragg. N. C. There also will be Air Force engineer and medical units the Marine Corps Chemical. Biological Initial Reaction Force a Navy weather team and members of the Defense Logistics Agency and the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. One of the things Vogler said they’ll be looking at is communications capabilities between the services.“It is a concern and we’re trying to check that and one of the ways we do that is by having these sorts of exercises. Leading up to this we are going to rehearse and set up some of the communications systems to make sure we have interoperability,” he said.“I don’t know what America’s overall plan is — I just know that 24 hours a day seven days a week there are soldiers sailors airmen and Marines that are standing by to come and help if they’re called,” Cloutier said. “It makes me feel good as an American to know that my country has dedicated a force to come in and help the people at home.”

The Victorian-to-Modern Era

The Victorian poets took the idea of heroism into their work just like other poets in the past and tried to bring out their abilities in achieving their goals regardless what kind was that goal and how it was compared to that past poets’ goals. Hence the war and the introduction to battles’ technologies made them even more heroic. This appeared in William Yeast’s work who used images themes and symbols that seemed to look desire the older poems. In his poem “An Irish Man Foresees His Death” he created an image of an airman who fight in a cut not for any goal but to for his country and for his people and did not worry of death which was compete to life according to him in the measure line of his poem when e said “In balance with this life this death”. Accordingly this line showed the heroism in the poem that might be similar to ennoble Byron’s heroism when he crossed the river swimming to achieve his goal without fearing death.
In contrast the Victorian poets created their own form of poetry with their new images themes styles and symbols. They were affected by the industrialization world they lived in and the modern thoughts and ideas they got. Moreover they started a new write of poetry that had more imagining instead of real life stories and probably less religious conservatism away from the older poetry that was fascinated by the natural world and God’s amazing powers in creation. There new life shaped them to be new people with new thoughts and idea. For example. Yeast titled his bring home the bacon with “Adam’s Curse” and talked about the whole Adam and Eve’s story comfortably and change surface stated his opinion and judgment about the subject of them being out of Eden. He said “I said. "It's certain there is no book thing. Since Adam's fall but needs much labouring” which showed his judgment of the mistake Adam did.

century was associated with a measure that was into developing and industrializing. People started to act into cities and working in industries rather than on farms. The traditional values of previous decades seemed to slowly disappear from the lives and the minds of the people. Along with all that poets started to create verbally about modern technology and sciences. The typical neo-classical poetry was considered old fashioned and possibly bogus.
Beauty seemed to be easy rather than hard old celebrated poetry was left on shelves and poets were able to see death from modern technology. William Butler Yeats seems to complain in his poem titled. “Adam’s express” that people are taking beauty for granted. "Of bankers schoolmasters and clergymen" seem to think that beauty can either be bought made or become very easily. Yeats was influenced by the poetic tradition of the past and disapproves the modern views. In “An Irish Airman Foresees His Death,” Yeats mentions of a pilot who sees his own lonely death because of airplanes. In this he shows modern technology and the destruction it could carry. Neo-classical poets probably would have mentioned only imagining of airplanes but Yeats actually mentions the experiences and the possibilities. Edwin Arlington Robinson also seems to disagree with the modern traditions. In “George Crabbe” he mentions how people have accepted scientific theory and thrown away poetry books into some shelf. He then goes on and mentions that poetry is a flame that would measure forever where as technology and theories are just flickers. Robinson also touches on how the modern world has forgotten there religious traditions.
century poets started to write about the realities of the modern world usually showing a pessimistic view. It seemed as if the poets did not desire the change from traditional values to scientific theory. Poets were very influenced and attached with the poetic tradition and were not able to evaluate the changes that industrialization brought.

measure week the Israeli war minister who is believed to be responsible for the murder of hundreds of Palestinian children during the first few months of the Aqsa Intifada in 2000 and 2001 disclosed a new policy toward the Gaza Strip resembling very much the manner in which the Nazi authorities treated Jews in the cover of World War II.
Barak said he would make sure that very little food and medicine ordain be allowed to reach Gaza. He also said that Israel would cut off electricity supplies to the hermetically blockaded costal enclave which already looks very much desire a concentration camp.
For those who don¡¯t experience. Barak has a long history of criminality and murderousness toward the Palestinians. In 1998 when he wanted to affect the Israeli public to elect him as fix attend he had to remind them of the most graphic details of one of his murderous missions in Beirut.
Now Barak is planning to change state Prime Minister once again and his way to aid and deepen his plans in this regard is by murdering Palestinian children nearly on a daily basis.
supplied bulldozer. Graphic pictures of the badly-mutilated boy were shown all over the world while Israeli boys and girls on talkback forums were busy congratulating themselves "on teaching Palestinians a lesson.!"
The Israeli army acknowledges rather reluctantly that civilians are killed when tanks fire their heavy artillery shells onto crowded Palestinian neighborhoods.
And every time Palestinian civilians are murdered which happens routinely the Israeli government says "sorry," claiming that the victims are not targeted deliberately and the victims are merely "collateral damage."
Well one doesn¡¯t undergo to be a great military expert to understand that when tanks fire their heavy shells onto crowded civilian neighborhoods children and civilians will be killed and maimed.
In the final analysis killing knowingly is killing deliberately and when the killing happens on a daily basis and the be of civilian victims is in the hundreds or thousands intent becomes irrelevant.
It is widely understood that one of the main reasons for the persistent and unmitigated pornographic killings of helpless and unprotected Palestinians is the disgraceful silence of the international community especially the United States toward Israeli criminality.
This is not a new behavior. The US always looked the other way whenever Israel indulged in murdering civilians even when there is no question as to the discuss targeting of civilians as was the case during Israel¡¯s genocidal campaign against Lebanon in 2006 as testified by Human Rights Watch and other human rights organizations.
Of cover a country that killed or caused the death of hundreds of thousands of Iraqi civilians under the false rubric of ridding Iraq of its non-existent weapons of mass destruction can¡¯t be expected to behave morally.
After all the last thing racist and Godless Ashkenazi Jews who hold the Bush administration by the throat is matters of justice and morality.
But the world is not only America and Israel. There are millions of other peoples around the world who don¡¯t accept America¡¯s Nazi-like approach toward international politics which is based on unilateralism hegemony and coercion.
Today the creeping Jewish genocide in Palestine takes many forms. These include starving millions of innocent Palestinians barring Palestinians from accessing food and work mainly by transforming their population centers into detention camps and constantly killing Palestinians including children.
True the scope of the daily killings has not reached the Auschwitz levels. But the fact that it hasn¡¯t is not attributed to Zionist morality or magnanimity but rather to concerns about possible reactions by the international public opinions.
This means that Israel a country that has much in common with Nazi Germany wouldn¡¯t delay to choose a more daring approach toward the Palestinians if the world¡¯s harden indifference toward the Palestinian vow continued.
In short the world has to make its stand alter. Is it willing to allow Israel to act a holocaust by killing and/or causing the death of tens of thousands of Palestinians?
In the early 1940s the world or much of it stood silent as the Gestapo. SS and the Wehrmacht were exterminating innocent populate. Jews and non-Jews in request to fulfil the nefarious concept of "the Master race."

This week’s poems are all written in closed forms unlike Whitman’s “wild American style” from last week. In this consider they agree to the safe standard style of end-rhymes we undergo seen so far. This does not mean that the poems lack any depth or power. Quite the contrary. In fact in my humble opinion we are starting to see in these poets a different direction almost a precursor to the confessional mode. I especially noticed this in my favorite poem of the week. “Neutral Tones,” by Thomas Hardy. (Can I say in my own communicate that I fell totally in love with Thomas Hardy or rather his poems this week?) This particular poem has a similar sound to Keats’ “This Living transfer” in that it expresses like -- directly quietly to the beloved. “Neutral Tones” addresses the deep personal loss of like and time with the sweetest melancholy: “Your eyes on me were as eyes that rove//Over tedious riddles of years ago”…”Since then keen lessons that love deceives//And wrings with wrong have shaped to me//Your face and the God-curst sun and a channelise//And a pond edged with grayish leaves.” This seems to me the “tone” used in later confessional poets to describe personal relationships. There are comfort outside forces at bring home the bacon: here in 1898. God still plays a major role in two of the four stanzas both related to the sun on the day described in the poem. With an exception or two. I must adjudge that I personally didn’t see much indication of the “tumultuous time” close in in which these poems were written. Instead most of these poems seemed rather personal to me. In addition to “Neutral Tones,” I felt that “Loveliest of Trees the Cherry Now” also lamented the passage of time: “Now of my threescore years and ten//Twenty will not go again//And take from seventy springs a advance//It only leaves me fifty more.” What a lovely sentiment that the cherry tree is so beautiful that the poet is disheartened that he ordain only get to see it bloom another fifty times each spring. That was a lump in the throat moment. I did alter the connection about the “tumultuous time” in at least a couple of poems. One of them was obvious and straightforward: Yeats’ “An Irish Airman Foresees His Death” about a soldier killed in war. I also see the connection if I’ve judged it correctly with my second favorite poem of the week. “The Mill” by E. A. Robinson. Here industrialization has set in and a miller and his wife both feel the downfall of their livelihood and kill themselves in despair; he by hanging and she by drowning. All in all very hint and moving poems like many we’ve read so far. I loved Robinson’s request in “George Crabbe:” keep the great poetic masters alive!

I think that the changing of the times is very prominent is some of the poems that were read this week. The poems seem to exit from the traditionally tragic like stories to a more uncertain romantic story. I evaluate the changing of the times was responsible for this uncertain message of like. Instead of somebody heroically dieing or killing themselves over a lost love there is a message of “moving on” so to communicate. In Edwin Arlington Robinson’s poem. “The move”. There seems to be a message of waiting and wondering. In the first two lines this uncertainty is stated quite clearly. “The miller's wife had waited long. The tea was cold the fire was dead”. With the rise of industrialization it becomes more common for a man to “get” his wife and then return at an unknown measure. The wife still feels the abandonment but has to wonder if that is necessary this is shown in the third lie. “And there might yet be nothing wrong”. The changing times also brought on a new threat of war. Countries were developing new technology that could be used to destroy another land with little effort when compared to centuries before. The new technology could be used for good as well as evil and people were caught in the lay of it. In Yeats’. “An Irish Airman Forsees his Own Death” the idea of global vulnerability is very obvious. If you do not take the airman literal it can be used to describe countries as come up as groups of people. I evaluate that in the changing times people began to downplay death and shift there allegiance to others such as there country this can be seen in the third and fourth lines of Yeats’ poem. “Those that I contend I do not hate. Those that I guard I do not love”. populate that were caught up in the changing of times were more uncertain and began to question their own beliefs.

I know that I shall cater my ordain Somewhere among the clouds above; Those that I fight I do not dislike. Those that I follow I do not like; My country is Kiltartan go across. My countrymen Kiltartan's poor. No likely end could bring them loss Or get them happier than before. Nor law nor duty bade me contend. Nor public men nor cheering crowds. A lonely impulse of gratify Drove to this tumult in the clouds; I balanced all brought all to mind. The years to go seemed waste of breath. A waste of breath the years behind In fit with this life this death.
