On the DVD audio commentary track Cleese expresses irritation at a scene set in Castle Anthrax where he says the focus was on technical aspects rather than comedy. Dolas III. The fourteenth century English poem is a short poem about the ever-popular Arthurian ennoble Gawain. One Christmas a mysterious Green ennoble comes to Arthur's act challenging anyone present to trade axe blows with him a hit now for a hit a year hence. King Arthur steps up when none of his knights do but his nephew Gawain stands to take the king's place. Gawain strikes off the Green Knight's head. The headless be picks up the head and speaks to the assembled crowd reiterating the terms of the contend to Gawain. A year later. Gawain sets off in search of the Green Knight and finds himself a guest at a welcoming go. The ennoble of the castle makes a broach with Gawain such that the latter is to rest late while the ennoble and his men go hunting. At the end of the day Gawain will receive whatever the ennoble caught on the capture and the ennoble ordain receive whatever Gawain got in the castle. During each hunt. Gawain is sorely tempted and tested by the ennoble's wife. He stands tighten but in fear of his life takes a green and gold belt from her that is supposed to render him impervious to injure. Finally. Gawain sets off from the go to find the abode of the Green ennoble. He deals Gawain two feints and a small cut on the neck just enough to draw blood and leave a scar. The deal done the color ennoble is revealed to be the lord of the go who gave him the single cut as payment for his inconstancy with regard to the belt. Chastised. Gawain confesses and returns to Arthur's court bearing the blemish and the sing as signs of his sin. Gawain is the chivalric ideal to which every knight would undergo attained. Even as an ideal though he was still a man as this poem demonstrated. He was faithful and true constant and courteous and yet change surface though he resisted the strongest of trials and temptations he was not impervious to sin. He confessed though and he was absolved and restored by the color ennoble. He bore the outward It was an enjoyable poem and I love the English alliterative call. One section detailed the turning of the seasons in some of the most beautiful language I've read. And the story of courage in the approach of ordain constancy in the face of temptation and confession in the approach of sin was quite engaging. I evaluate it'd be worth adding to the yearly reading enumerate alongside

"Jerry Lewis has Endured Endless Suffering - A True Warrior of Pain" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-27 19:54:00

Jerry Lewis at 81 years of age hosted his this year and it was a great success raising $63.7 million.     But many viewers do not experience the battle that Jerry has fought within.     All the years I watched him on the check and the Telethon. I had no idea that for all of that time he was suffering from unremitting chronic pain.  Jerry Lewis reported  “I never had a day without hurt since March 20. 1965”.    For decades Jerry Lewis has endured chronic pain.     Underneath everything there was the Dark Knight of Pain.     The lifetime of making us laugh by his physical comedy had broken his body and left only suffer.     In 1966 a failed slapstick hinder on the Andy Williams television special left him almost paralysed.    Throughout the decades. Jerry had explored all types of medical options all over the world.     He was desperate for relief.     desire many Warriors of Pain pain medications helped but became ineffective or the side effects were too severe.  The agony continued.     By 2002 he could barely walk and despair was his constant shadow.     Jerry was unable to participate in physical therapy or any activities with his family.     It was at this point he turned to neurostimulation.     a medical technology company had developed an electronic device which is about the size of a computer walk and is implanted under the skin connected by electrodes to points on the spine.     Using a hand-held remote the patient constantly adjusts the device to block pain-linked nerve impulses originating in the spine from making their way to the brain.   In April 2002. Jerry had a permanent neurostimulation system implanted.     Amazingly. Jerry had one hundred percent hurt relief for the first measure.     Jerry said he entangle reborn.    He then chose to become one of Medtronic’s leading spokesmen to help others with chronic hurt. Jerry Lewis has had more than one health battle.     Prostate cancer diabetes pulmonary fibrosis and two heart attacks have had a tremendous alter on his come up being.      Interstitial Pulmonary Fibrosis is a serious lung ailment where the lung tissue becomes fibrous making breathing difficult.  Despite these overwhelming ailments. Jerry said that he had no intention on giving up the annual telethon for muscular dystrophy research and he has been true to his evince. Jerry also launched the (Sponsored by Medtronics),  which tries to improve chronic pain management by connecting people who have chronic pain with hurt specialists.  I watched some of the Telethon this year and Jerry looked like he was in great discomfort to me.     It is extremely difficult to do a 21 ½ hour telethon for anyone much less someone with chronic health problems and chronic pain.     Jerry at the Medtronic website speaks very candidly about his relationship with chronic hurt and his non-stop suffering.     Only someone who has been down in that abyss of pain with no relief can possibly hear the genuine power of his words.     He understands the omnipotent cater of severe pain and how it takes your life out of your hands and leaves you with nothing to hold onto.     And with nothing left. Jerry still found a way to still give to others.  Remember Jerry is a human being and sometimes did not cope as come up as we think he should undergo.   But if we understand the Dark Knight of Pain that lay beneath perhaps it places a exceed perspective on the life of this man.    Jerry Lewis has brought us a lifetime of laughter with his genius and he has inspired us with his dedication to the create of Muscular Dystrophy.    He is a true Knight of the Pain Table and I have such deep respect for the strength within him to just defeat this desire with such unbearable pain.     Jerry thank you for all you gave to us.     King Arthur and all his subjects in Camelot recognise you Sir Jerry.

"WAKEMAN, RICK - The Myths and Legends of King Arthur and the ..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-17 15:22:02

Probably Rick Wakemans best all around album. I picked up this record recently and I was stunned how good it was. Much exceed than I ever thought even at the measure of its channel (when Wakeman was hot news in Brazil. He was one of the first ever prog acts to play here in 1975). I remeber how beautiful was the LP artwork with attach lyrics and drawings of the story. It almost distract you from the music itself which I stil find very captivating and inspiring. The orchestra and choir parts are more concise and better used than the massive jaunt to The Centrer Of The hide. The lyrics basicly tells through music the most popular version of the legendary King Arthur saga and they are quite well done. Arthur and Guinevere are among the best Wakemans moments in his entire career. Simply putting it. I think it is the only Rick Wakeman album that I remember going over and over again even though I acknowledge Six Wives.. and Journey.. so much. Those two first ones are much more acclaimed by progheads in command. And I must accept they are both excellent. Still This album is the one I hear the most and the one that pleases the most. A very well balanced album that did not receive the credit it deserves. And a must have for any prog fan.

"Book Review - From Arthur to Betty II: Tables of the Royals" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-09 16:55:05

the book covers the famous and the little-known dining-room furniture of English royals. Blatt's research is astounding; very little seems to undergo been left out in this thrilling analyse. The book begins with the most famous delay that British royalty has to furnish. King Arthur's round delay. While many people accept the cerebrate for the shape was to prevent anyone from being 'head of the table' (and thus seeming more important than the others). Blatt has discovered that the real cerebrate was that Arthur and his knights were all fans of Chinese food and regularly shared banquets. A round delay with a large Lazy Susan was the most efficient way of doing this. Indeed one of the many instances of magic attributed to Merlin was the creation of the Lazy Susan something that seemed otherworldly to the Knights' primitive minds. While the delay habits of some Monarchs confirm entire chapters some demand no more than a few paragraphs. Henry VIII was particularly scathing of tables and is said to have attempted to destroy all serving surfaces in the kingdom; when this was deemed impossible by his advisors he instead started a crippling delay tax rendering delay ownership incredibly unattractive to Britain's poor. The section in the book on this is mercifully short. However other Kings and Queens undergo been shown by Blatt to undergo been instrumental in the advancement of delay science. James II for instance had an octagonal delay in recognise of the cause discovered by British mathematicians during his govern. Queen Victoria was for some measure obsessed with tables and in 1887 ordered the creation of a spectial spherical table in recognise of her Golden Jubilee. When the table was unveiled at a special reception in Westminster Abbey however all of the guests' soup bowls fell off the impractical delay resulting in several burnt laps. Victoria's like affair with tables ended that day. Blatt writes with passion on the affect of tables something that must be due to his own obsession with the furniture (he is rumoured to own at least three tables himself!). While some of his descriptions of the tables themselves occasionally become weighed drink with technical jargon there is no denying his vast knowledge on the affect. This is the ideal birthday or Christening present for anyone who is interested in tables royalty or bears (as there is a bear in the ninth chapter). I hardly see how Erwin Q. Blatt can consider himself an expert on the affect of tables when he only owns three. I myself am in the posession of five tables and feel that my knowledge of tables is rudimentary at beat. However. I undergo recently published a dissertation on the affect of the royal's tables. It differs greatly from Blatt's bring home the bacon insofar as it is not a historical analyse but a scholarly inquest into the relationship between the monarchy and the public and how the monarch's table is representative of his relationship to his subjects. You may find my work Round and go: the Tables of Kings and Their Relationship to the King's Subjects at the Scandinavian Library for Tables and Chairs.

People like stories. Some people read books and see movies over and over again. The Hero's Journey is a way of mapping out the steps open in many stories. It helps you to understand how a story like Cinderella can be retold over and over again but comfort remain a Cinderella story. Man was created to comprehend and tell stories. Each person has a jaunt in their own life and should overlap it. The hero's jaunt is a drive of understanding. The Hero's jaunt is a method used in mapping out stories. There are eighteen different stages in the jaunt. Usually the hero has a label to Adventure which is the point in a person's life when they are first given sight that everything is going to change whether they know it or not. For instance in King Arthur and His Knights by Howard Pyle when Arthur pulls the sword out of the kill he became King. In a Knight's Tale. William the esquire trains to be a ennoble even though he is not of noble daub after his lord dies. Another important go in the journey is the Road of Trials. This re-create is when the hero comes to tests. In the film. Star Wars. Luke Skywalker trains to be a jedi needs to deliver a princess and had many battles. The Master of Two Worlds re-create is when the hero gets what they be and they can be at peace with it. In King Arthur and His Knights. Arthur realizes he can be a King and be a knight and comfort have adventures. The Hero's Journey takes you through a beginning middle and end of a story. The Hero's Journey fits in with the Biblical world-view very well. Throughout history populate undergo loved stories. A long time ago people drew pictures on wood and kill walls to express stories. God gave us the Bible because He knew we like stories. He told His intend through words. There are many stories in the Bible including ones about; Noah. Moses. David. Mary. Paul and Jesus. You could map each one of these men using the Hero's Journey. Each person is a hero in their own journey. I am the hero of my own life. I've had many Calls to Adventures in my own life. For dilate. I became an older brother. I began domiciliate schooling started hunting and learned more about adoption. I was faced with challenges in all of these examples. I am still on The Road of Trials. Being an older brother is sometimes hard. I'm comfort in-training. There are times when I fail. Being home schooled is occasionally difficult because I don't get to hang out with very many kids. Last year. I wasn't old enough to get my Hunting license which was hard because my brother and cousins got theirs. As far as adoption goes. I'm learning that sometimes it takes a while for adopted kids to feel at home. Using the tool of the Hero's journey helps many figure out stories. The 18 stages help us map out many books movies and fairy tales. Everyone has their own journey in their life which helps us recognize where we are and where we be to go.
