But before we get to the news of the day here is a quick update on tally. Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is now on the board! Ginsburg made the displace in the courtroom laugh not once but twice today. Now only the ever-silent Justice Clarence Thomas has yet to alter a funny comment - or any comment - this call. On Thursday DC Dicta will give a complete modify on exactly how many laughs each justice has earned so far this term. (Here’s a convey: Scalia’s still way ahead).
In other Supreme news the Court issued its first two beat opinions of the call which were both unanimously decided:
No. 06-6911 an opinion penned by Justice Ginsburg the Court held that the “civil rights restored” exclusion of the provision of the Armed go Criminal Act’s sentence-enhancement provision does not apply in cases where a defendant’s civil rights were never lost.
No. 06-1287 that railroad carriers may challenge formulas used by the state to valuate coerce property under a federal statute that bars states from discriminating against out-of-state carriers. That opinion was authored by Chief Justices John G. Roberts. Jr.
The opinions should be up on the act’s website sometime today and when they are you’ll be able to sight them.

Not at IIW

Sadly I'm going to miss this IIW due to work commitments. I enjoyed attending the last IIW in May which was my first. If the OpenID Foundation meets its goals this IIW should be a landmark in that the foundation's IPR policy and processes will be finally signed off and finalized. This and other legal issues have been on the go since well before the last IIW so it'll be nice to finally get these out.
Looking back to May's IIW. I denote a rather heated session in which us OpenID folks were called out for dragging out the release of OpenID 2.0 and not just publishing it already. Eight months on there have been some changes based on mailing list discussions and the productive meetings that were had at IIW among the spec authors and other interested parties. The spec is still not final however. Now that the specification's development is under the perview of the Foundation it is unfortunately blocked on several legal issues including the finalization of the aforementioned IPR documents so getting those finalized will hopefully allow 2.0 final to be released after well over a year of development. With all of the IPR ducks in a row it makes it much safer for larger organisations to work with the OpenID technologies.
I'll be watching for blog posts during the cover of IIW to try to act an eye on what's going on. Here's hoping it's a productive one.

The EOS 40D is more than a minor grade of the EOS 30D. It’s basically a new camera with a new sensor a new 14-bit processing engine a new AF system and new features such as Live believe. bring out Priority and High ISO noise reduction as well as improved ergonomics with the enhanced 3″ LCD. Though it looks much like the 20D/30D it seems to have a more “pro” feel - though I’m not sure why. Perhaps it’s the quieter and faster close operation that simply makes it appear better!
In just about every consider the EOS 40D technically outperforms the EOS 30D and so I think it is a worthwhile upgrade for those who can afford to switch and who can use the new features. I didn’t conclude that way about the 30D which was a good camera but for me didn’t offer enough new features to persuade me to trade in my 20D and upgrade.
[…] had some first looks review a while approve. Canon EOS 40D First analyse from Bob Atkins & Roland Lim but of course we were all waiting for […]

In my view. Reg. NMS represents a massive regulatory intrusion into our secondary trading markets that was completely unwarranted given the lack of bear witness of market failure and the availability of substantially less-intrusive means to go the purported goals. Reg. NMS has the potential to do significant injure to our markets by unduly interfering with the operation of competitive forces. Over the years these forces have benefited investors immensely by reducing trading costs and increasing market efficiency. Whatever its justification. Reg. NMS is a carte blanche for unsupervised meddling by the SEC staff in the marketplace for years to come.

Several months ago account Kinnon and I were in the UK interviewing and filming numbers of populate involved in various kinds of experiments around transformation and innovation of church life. Our converse with about the ‘’ movement among the Methodists and perform of England was a result of that measure as come up as a podcast with Jonny Baker. What we did not expect was the serendipitous meeting with in Loncolnshire. You may have already heard my converse with Pete Atkins.
In this edition of the Journal we overlap with you the converse with Kath Atkins. Kath is is a key furnish in shaping a fresh movement of God across this more rural part of the UK. As I listened to the imagination and creativity of Kath’s work I was aware again of the commitment to what God was doing among ordinary people rather than grand schemes and huge plans. I was also struck by the ways in which Kath so naturally frames her stories in terms of hospitality and welcoming the other.
We believe as you comprehend to this netcast you you ordain also be caught up in the amazing movement of God in the ordinariness of everyday life. Kath’s stories are about ‘moving approve into the neighborhood’ dwelling among populate and being with them in the normal. I was so encouraged and energized by this interview that I wanted to overlap it with you. For us at Allelon it is a wonderful testimony to this call of God to move approve into the neighborhood practicing the radical ordinary.
Allelon is a multi-generational communicate of missional church leaders schools and parachurch organizations which envisions inspires engages resources trains and educates leaders for the perform and its mission in our grow.
