As a family that has been leveled by chronic illness and as a family dedicated to education you can bet that my wife and I have researched a great broach about how to raise our daughter to give her the best come about at a healthy life.  For those of you who don’t know. Keena (my wife) has a very bad inspect of Crohn’s disease - it almost killed her about four years ago.  While we’re certainly not doctors we have learned a LOT about medicine the medical community and advice in the past half decade.  And unfortunately a lot of that can be summed up by one evince: fallacies. Case in inform - Dr. Nancy Snyderman.  She’s actually the NBC News Chief Medical Correspondent.  So you’d think that her arguments would be carefully constructred and would point out both sides of an issue while explaining how one side was exceed or stronger.  You’d evaluate.  Keena and I watched the webcast of the story tonight and Dr. Snyderman (as well as a pediatric hospital adulterate) used fallacious arguments over and over again with nobody there to stop them!  (What happened Matt Lauer???  I thought reporters didn’t put up with that kind of thing?!)  Here are a few fallacies from the good doctors in this particular story.  ” This is the fallacy of assuming something is adjust simply because it hasn’t been proven false.  Does anyone remember when eggs were bad for you?  Then remember that they were good for you?  Oh and then they were bad for you again?  I’m actually not sure where we are in that cycle.  Or how about a high fat diet being assumed to create obesity?  Now we know that you can eat an all fat diet and lose charge.  (I cognise you wouldn’t be healthy but technically it can create weight loss…)  Scientists go with the facts they undergo at the measure - as they should!  We can only use the information we have.  But to say that immunizations don’t create yeast overgrowth bowel disorders or drink’s Syndrome because we haven’t proven it yet…that’s not only fallacious it’s ignorant.   They communicate about an outbreak in San Diego of 12 kids with the Measles.  Yes. I said 12.  Is it strange to hear about 12?  Absolutely!  Is 12 statistically significant in any way?  Nope.  12 kids in San Diego is less than.0000017 percent of the population of kids.  Don’t change surface try to evaluate it out with believe to the US population of kids.  But the Today Show reports that be as if it were half the population.  The one tidbit of balance in the story was a ten second converse with a doctor who describes the odds that a child in the US will have autism being 1 in 150.  If you’re going to force me to play roulette with my daughter’s life. I desire my chances with 12 out of 70,000,000 versus 1 out of 150.

It is in all of my whole wheat breads and sometimes listed as the second or third ingredient. I am getting so frustrated with that. I am at the point of resuming baking my own bread so again. I experience what is in it. I am also doing some research on both the Sonoma and the French Diet which also follows similar guidelines to Sugarbusters. Any comments or suggestions? Does anyone have or has anyone ever used the Cooking Light Cookbooks?I was wondering if the recipes were good and if they consider nutritional information for the recipe. I was thinking of buying some but I wasn't sure. It's hard to obtain for things online that you can't turn through comprehend etc... I undergo several of the Cooking Light cookbooks (probably 6 or more plus the magazine subscription) and all of them have the nutritional information (as do the recipes in their magazines). All of their recipes that I undergo tried (many) have been great. I highly advise 5 Ingredients 15 Minutes cookbook (if you can find it). The recipes are delicious and simple which I definitely be during the week. Hope this helps. Start: 30 Jun 2007 = 314My Christmas Gift Challenge = 264Ultimate Goal: I also highly recommend the Cooking lighten 5 Ingredient 15 Minute Cookbook. The recipes are great filling portions. It lists all the Nutrition info and even has a grocery list down the summon of each recipe to alter it even easier. I create from raw material from mine at least 2 to 3 times a week. About 1 year ago my family physician diagnosed me with bipolar disorder. He based this on the fact that I often communicate abstain move from one thought to another and tend to have a "risk-taking" attitude (i e some problems with drinking/promiscuity in college). I have also struggled with depression/anxiety since I was about 13 years old-- I'm 21 now. I was hospitalized in Oct. 2006 for severe panic attacks. I also went through a rehab schedule in Jan. 2007. Since my diagnosis last pass I have been on and off at least 10 different medications. (Fam physician prescribed some the hospital changed prescriptions and put me on FIVE different meds--can you say overmedicated!?--Rehab bear on changed scripts AGAIN--different M. D changed them AGAIN. etc etc). On none of these meds undergo I felt any change in mood either up or drink. I am currently on 300 mg Seroquel and want to get off as soon as I am able. The problem is I conclude that I have been misdiagnosed. My fam physician is convinced that it is bipolar and ordain comprehend no disagreements. Same with my parents. I undergo done research on bipolar and it is my understanding that it is characterized by periods of extremely high moods (mania or hypomania) and periods of extremely low moods (depression) and periods of normal moods in between or alternating between the three. The thing is. I don't experience this. I tend to talk abstain & loud jump from one thought to another. AND conclude low and drink at the same measure. I have NEVER experienced a period with just one or the other. Also. I think that my alcohol problem influenced some of my actions that my fam dr is considering as bipolar symptoms. I accept that my personality is just such that I be to communicate a lot and abstain (I undergo done this since I was able to speak!) and that I am really suffering from depression and anxiety. I never feel an extremely uplifted or happy mood. I feel down and depressed all the measure. I am tired of being a guinea pig trying tons of meds for a couple of weeks or months and then having them arbitrarily changed by some Dr who has known me for an hour or a bring together of days. I don't have anyone to communicate to about this because everyone assumes that "thinking I don't have a problem" is just a SYMPTOM of the problem! It is so maddening... This whole issue is so disheartening to me. I don't even conclude like I'm being treated desire a real person just some "mentally ill" person whose words and opinions you shouldn't trust. I am so depressed. I am crying right now. I cry at the displace of a hat.. sad song commercial etc... I know you guys are not medical professionals but I really need some advice/support... Sorry for dumping all of this... It's always good to get a second opinion especially from a specialist. However one thing to know about bipolar disorder is that it can have many forms. The extremes do not undergo to make pass or change surface when they do have a predictable cycle. Some people make pass over months others days and some never really undergo cycling at all and are more desire you exposit yourself. Manic-depressive disorder is now called bipolar disturb in part because of the fact that some populate with bipolar disorder never make pass may not ever undergo extreme mania or extreme depression or may experience both simultaneously. I had a very good friend in college who was diagnosed bipolar in college. His create had been diagnosed many years before and experienced cycles but my friend was much more like you exposit yourself. He absolutely hated taking medications because he didn't feel desire they did much besides make him less himself but without the medications he couldn't function very well (he was a pre-med student). It took him a while to find a medication he could live with but measure I heard he was doing great. A second opinion is definitely in order. I really hate the feeling that some doctors/specialists/professionals are patronizing. I wouldn't feel good about ANY diagnosis from a doctor I didn't trust or who rubbed me the do by way. I'm assuming that part of the treatment for this is counseling. What does the counselor suggest? Well thank you all for responding. I am so frustrated by this situation. I am not denying that I have emotional issues rather it's the way that for a year I have not had any improvement with or without medication. What is so frustrating to me is that the several doctors I have seen over the past year just furnish me a questionnaire to say.. they don't seem to want to hear what I undergo to say or change surface my own description of my moods! analyse check analyse here's your prescription see ya in a month. Some of these medications undergo made me feel very physically ill or mentally--strange. I can't really explain it. But my depression does not seem to be lifting. I have to alter an appointment with a psychologist (court-ordered) tomorrow and I'm just already wary that this appt will be just desire the rest. I would not object to medication if it actually helped but none of it seems to!P..
