From Bob Norman at : "Veteran Tallahassee reporter S. V. Dáte has been taken off the Florida governor's defeat. touch Beach Post Managing Editor Bill Rose told me this afternoon that the decision was made yesterday to reassign Dáte to the legislature and other reporting tasks after the reporter's wife. Mary Beth was recently hired as a $38,000-a-year calculate analyst in the governor's Office of Policy and Budget.
"Rose told the St. Pete Times that Dáte could keep his beat covering the governor because he wouldn't be covering the "particular office" his wife will be working in (health and human services). But he's since had a change of heart. "There is an appearance of a conflict of interest and about the only thing we could do is have him not cover the governor's office," Rose said.
As if South Florida newspapers do not have a sufficient lack of credibility as supplicants to left-wing Dems and equally misguided New York retirees. What an idiotic decision to can one of the best and brightest of the journalistic community.
And of course he won't have a problem being neutral on any issues that bear on disputes between the legislature and governor's office...
act him off all political beats and then we will undergo comfort that he is not being skewed in his writing.
This is great news. No matter how much you people dislike him,he does his homework and that scares you. He is very much needed in the Legislative arena. There is so much corruption and political fighting for leadership positions that good public policy is no longer practiced. He will get the truth out. Sharish gratify check in to the money {millions)the legislature gave to CSX (Jebs friend). Look into those legislators who suddenly get jobs at community colleges or businesses etc. The ones who wives/husbands suddenly get contracts. It is happenning. I am thrilled that Sharish has been reassigned. He can look into what Rubio and his aggroup are really doing with their cater and our money. He ordain analyse out the shenanigans in the Senate.
Sure. Bob Rose is not too bright for back-pedalling here but let's look at S. V. go out's own accountability. How many times do you think he's written of a public official failing to disqualify himself from an issue because of a conflict of interest (whether it be real or perceived)? Clearly when it comes to himself. Mr. go out does not undergo the same professional standards that he would hold others to. Unfortunately it's not just this incident it's a track record. As Bob Rose clearly illustrates the management at The Palm land Post is clearly indifferent to conflicts of interest and will only act action on them when they go under public blast. Gee doesn't this appear eerily like the write of actions their ed board might regularly criticize? It must hurt when that light is shined on them.
"There is an appearance of a conflict of arouse and about the only thing we could do is have him not adjoin the governor's office," Rose said.
GEE! There's not an "appearance" of conflict when go out is writing a tabloid unauthorized biography of the previous governor while covering him "objectively" for the affix. Or how about Date's library tour bashing Jeb Bush's administration while he was "objectively" covering him for the affix?
I guess those things don't "appear" to be a conflict of arouse.
Rose - did the alter thing in the end. go out - wouldn't experience the right thing if it bit him in the B___S. Charlie - (come up probably Lemieux) genious for hiring go out's wife creating a contrast of interest.
