Besides preparing for the largest and most complex hospital opening the province has seen in more than 15 years they're also about to change a week-long on-site review to renew their national accreditation.
The health authority is also preparing for a week-long process to acquire accreditation. The accreditation procedure -- which marks the culmination of a year's worth of preparatory work -- takes place Oct. 21-26. That's weeks before the opening of the new Upper River Valley Hospital in Carleton County in November.
"If we could undergo separated them if we could do it and manoeuvre we would displace them," McGarry said Wednesday evening following the health authority's come in of directors meeting.

The health authority is preparing for the national survey by the Canadian Council on Health Services Accreditation. The survey is conducted every three years.
The assessment will consider a site visit with six experts on health-care administration.
The accreditation process looks at the health authority's response to the needs of the communities it serves how it provides those services the work environment and the relationship with patients clients and communities.
Fifteen teams representing the region's clinical services information management environment human resources leadership and partnerships have already provided self-assessments to the surveyors.
The experts will assess whether River Valley Health has an accurate perception of its performance.
"It shouldn't be a affect to us because we're assessing ourselves telling them how we're doing," McGarry said.
The people doing the survey usually provide between five and 20 recommendations on improvements the health authority can alter.
The analyse isn't a legal requirement to run the hospital. McGarry said but not doing it isn't an option.
Obtaining the accreditation is essential to maintaining teaching elements for nursing and family practice at the hospital he said.
"If you are going to be a teaching institute "¦ you're going to have a hard measure convincing educational institutions to be a teaching site if you don't show that you go through an accreditation by your peer groups."
