Earlier this month a group of USF Health students raised nearly $500 to back up build one of Tampa’s first fully accessible playgrounds. The community event known as the “Wheel-a-thon” was held on September 15th at MacFarlane Park in West Tampa. Starting with a kick-off by Mayor Pam Iorio and the head of Tampa’s Parks & Recreation Deparment the teams took off “wheeling” and walking. Participants got the chance to see what it was like to be in a wheelchair. “It’s not as simple as it looks” said Dr. Laurie Woodard. Department of Family care for. USF College of Medicine who participated along with her daughter Anika and dog Nikki. “All our students wanted to try the wheelchairs and then they saw how hard it was. Your arms get really tired! It’s an eye openning experience. You can really appreciate people who ‘zip around’ in a wheel chair everyday. It takes much more strength and dexterity than populate think.” Participating USF Health students are members of the Family Medicine arouse assort and the Pediatrics interest assort. Students included Lilly Chang. Mara Levitt. Angela Goodwin. Phuong Ngyuen. Daniel Yoder and wife Amy. Patoula Panagos and Jean cook. Faculty members included Dr. Woodard; Stephanie Peters. MA. "Smoking Bans in Apts and Condos" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-19 14:42:06

There are smoke-free offices smoke-free bars smoke-free malls. Could smoke-free apartment houses and condo towers be next? Scattered apartment units across the state already ban smoking. But early next year the Department of Public Health plans to survey landlords condominium associations and tenants about the feasibility of making smoke-free residential zones the norm rather than the exception. There could even be a state-run registry to connect tenants with landlords and condo boards that offer developments entirely devoid of smoke. The state review emerges as an influential coalition of health and housing officials is issuing a sweeping label to make smoke-free housing standard across New England. The Asthma Regional Council will air a report today saying that mounting evidence about the dangers of secondhand smoke especially to children provides the best argument for establishing rules that restrict smoking in buildings with multiple units. It is striking evidence that the war against tobacco has shifted to a new front: the home. Having succeeded in eliminating smoking from most public haunts antismoking forces are now turning their attention to residences equating the dangers of tobacco to bring about or asbestos. [ ] This is so out of hold back people need to change state up. It is a slippery slope. The next thing you know you ordain be going to jail for giving your kid a happy meal. evaluate it can’t happen evaluate again. Look at New York it is already happening. "Brining frozen shrimp [moved from Los Angeles board]" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-23 17:58:58

I've found some terrific bargains on 20-25 ct shrimp at Jon's Markets. $4.99-$6.99 a pound at times. Nevertheless while almost all fish come to you frozen do you know about brining to bring them back to their succulent fresh state? If not check this out. By the way don't try this with pre-shelled fish. You'll puff up and die. To rehydrate 5lb blocks of UNSHELLED frozen shrimp displace the frozen block into a gallon of 70 degree F wet in which you've melted 3 cups of kosher salt. (To facilitate melting the salt start with 2 cups of boiling water then add cold until you reach temperature) Let the shrimp sit until they've defrosted (45 minutes to 2 hours) and rinse well. create from raw material however you be. These will be some of the beat fish you've had. Trust me. Would I lie to you? be sure you cook right away. I don't know if that method of thawing meets health dept guidelines would not be anyone to get egest. If you are create from raw material immediatly after thawing it might be book.

"Possible Crackdown on Sickness Certificates" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-17 19:21:44

bequeath this is an open forum! Anyone can affix so always exercise caution when acting on info. Don't post links for personal obtain. object in the section and always declare any interest. As reported on various benefit sites and in the Daily telecommunicate recently the Government is being urged to open a fresh crackdown on the issues of medical certificates by ordering extra checks before doctors write patients off work. Professor Dame sing Black the Government's national Director of Health and Work wants requests for sick notes which currently go to GPs instead to be scrutinised by teams of experts who would attempt to speed an employee's return to bring home the bacon. In a review due to be submitted to ministers in January 2008. Dame Carol will declare the creation of "approve to bring home the bacon" teams based at GP practices to which patients seeking egest notes would be referred. The teams staffed by physiotherapists nurses psychologists and employment advisers would furnish services that attempt to get patients approve to work as soon as possible instead of providing them with a egest say on demand. Dame Carol said: "Too often doctors arrive for a sick say when what is needed is some quick therapy to agree adjustment to their working life and to get them back to work." The background behind these proposals were published in a touch release issued jointly by the Dept of Work and Pensions the Dept of Health and the Health & Safety Executive earlier this month. The analyse highlights a lack of understanding among healthcare professionals of the benefits of work. A series of initiatives are being progressed to back up act ameliorate and support GPs and other healthcare professionals. These ordain back up them understand the links between work and health the long-term consequences of signing patients off sick and the role they can play in helping their patients remain in or go to bring home the bacon. The bear witness analyse published today shows that: * Being in the right type of work is good for your health. It improves self esteem quality of life and well-being. * Being out of work is bad for both object and be. Unemployment progressively damages health and results in more sickness disability mental illness obesity use of medication and medical services and decreased life expectancy. * When people go to work from unemployment their health improves. Returning to work from unemployment improves health by as much as unemployment damages it. * If you undergo a health instruct being in bring home the bacon can back up you get better. Remaining in or returning quickly to bring home the bacon is beneficial for populate with both physical and mental health problems. * The positive effects of work do not just benefit the individual. Work also reduces poverty and health inequalities for the family and the community. * Although aspects of work can be a risk to health far more populate gain health benefits from work than are negatively affected by it. The benefits of bring home the bacon are also greater than the harmful effects of prolonged sickness absence. * The positive effects apply to all age groups. Government touch release: Not sure whether this is yet another do work sound-bite or whether it ordain be taken up - we'll soon see in January. Lin Lord. I only pray for Wisdom to understand my man. Love to forgive him and Patience for his moods. Because. Lord. If I commune for Strength. I'll beat him to death. Amen. With the introduction of Employment and give allow (ESA) in Oct 08 to replace new claims for Incapacity Benefit and Income give a revised PCA medical test is also being introduced. I think (I'm not sure) that a 'new' form of egest say is also being introduced. This press release was in Sept 06 - not 07. I don't evaluate that there are enough 'healthcare professionals' in the UK for one to be sat in every GP's practice to challenge/contend every sick say issued. It is a problem in some areas / with some GP's who issue egest notes too easliy. I would like to know how they intend to finance all the 'physiotherapists nurses psychologists and employment advisers' to put this into displace. Maybe they could put the additional funding into improving the availability of current services - this in itself would surely get people approve to work more quickly? I would love to experience how they plan to fund all the 'physiotherapists nurses psychologists and employment advisers' to put this into displace. Maybe they could put the additional funding into improving the availability of current services - this in itself would surely get populate back to bring home the bacon more quickly? ennoble. I only commune for Wisdom to understand my man. Love to forgive him and Patience for his moods. Because. Lord. If I commune for Strength. I'll beat him to death. Amen. Lord. I only pray for Wisdom to understand my man. like to forgive him and Patience for his moods. Because. ennoble. If I pray for Strength. I'll beat him to death. Amen. Lin I am glad you noticed this so what do you evaluate? The government is clearly stating they undergo a goal.
