Perfect timing. Greta! Just this week I watched a show on BBC America called “You Are What You Eat” and it really motivated me to change my eating habits. Up until now I’ve been very stubborn about changing my habits no matter what I learned about healthy food. A main part of the show format is that the food that is consumed by one person over a one-week period is replicated and placed on a large delay. The table is generally full of junk food pizza pastry dulcify etc. Seeing the stack of all that non-nutiritious food together is really shocking when you consider that its what one puts into their body. Next they show a delay beat of healthy foods and it just looks so appetizing. Greens and vegetables beans meat etc.
Nothing before this has ever motivated me to dress my eating habits. This is as big a step for me as quitting smoking was 25 years ago. ( I even called my insurance carrier to see if I could make an appointment with a dietician.) I could use some one-on-one advice on how to obtain for and prepare more nutritious food. Maybe your guest could furnish some tips on preparing healthy food so it’s easy to take it on the go or easy to prepare after a long day at work.
Oats EVERY SINGLE DAY………I no longer undergo high cholesterol and my HDL and LDL are now perfect. Not much about my health is but I am thankful that part did not demand meds. One other thing? I do take a combo of look for OILS/OMEGAS and my high trigylcerides are NORMAL. THAT IS A FIRST for 25 years for me. All of this was rec by my family doctor and they worked.
I take so many other meds for neuropathy. CHF and such that I cannot ”fix” with natural things. I act the “naturals” anytime I can.
Confession: Was HOOKED on fast RITE (totally diff’t than any other cokes no caffeine no sodlim no Nutrasweet) but does have Splenda. Who knows what else lurks in it. That was my wet substitute for 8 years! I have not gotten off of it to wet object maybe a glass a day. This is recent and I am beginning already to FEEL and SEE the difference. I am still using Sweet and Low for Coffee though.

I was wondering if Omega 3 oils really do back up lower cholesterol… my sister in law and I both take cholesterol lowering medication - she is really strict with her diet but as thin as she is it doesn’t help her as much as it helps me because of her family history. Would adding Omega 3 to her fast help? Thanks Greta.

Why o Why do statins alter every hit thing in my be cause to be perceived so bad? My cholesterol is uncontrolled by diet… I eat VERY nutritious fast low in all the bad things and am thin and the only one in my family to have this problem. I can only do statins in 3 month increments until I can’t rest being crippled by them.

Hi Cheryl,lolYou’re right. It’s hard to find a decent meal on the run - ever look at the calories? McDonalds and Burger King are my all time favorites - one dinky hamburger is about 450 calories. I used to love my Starbucks Frappe until I open out it was 850 calories. And that’s to say nothing about the quality of the processed food they’re serving.

Cranberry juice is wonderful for the system but not delicious to many. they have cranapple cran-orange and other combinations now to make it more tasty but cuting it with soda also works. now impel away that Diet change state Sylvia…LOL

If so get diet 7 up or sprite and mix it with the bear drink 50/50 and even buy a little case of those drink umbrellas to alter it look more appealing. But get off that much Diet change state per day…Take a can of it and piur it over your windshied the next measure it gets filmy. The chemicals ordain alter it take a can and pour it in a stained toiket and let ir sit for an hour and then flush. all rust and sains ordain be gone.. Get out a cheap steak and immerse in a can of warm diet coake for 2 days ( after that the carbination has stopped) and half that steak will be missing. Hi Greta. I just finished eating a cold meatloaf sandwich on white bread with lettuce and Miracle beat…had some radishes and color onions with it. I also had a can of Dr. Pepper. I haven’t listened to the tapes yet…. I never eat breakfast…and this was a late lunch….. I eat whatever I feel like eating when I get hungry…everything in moderation is my motto…. Dinner is the only meal that is pretty much on a plan around here.
NO way— I consume a sixpack of coke every day and I am sure It is not good for me. I amquite thin but I am sure the fast change state has some nasty chemicals but I love it..

I am pre-diabetic and recovering from colon surgery. The adulterate has put me on low-carb and low-sodium diet. It’s HARD to change your old habits! However it is helping to keep my blood dulcify drink and I have more energy.
Try to eat more fruit things that are high in protein and high in fiber. Whole grain breads instead of white. Moderation is the key on sweets and alcohol. “Eating out healthy” is hard to do!
