After three days without power. Seaside resident Bob Stevens had seen enough "doom and gloom." He wanted to brighten the spirits of his Seaside neighbors and displace the charge of destruction isolation and worry weighing on the community."It was so dark outside and I thought. 'This is no fun. Everybody's hiding in their houses with their candles,'" Stevens recalled Thursday. "I wanted to spread a little joy around the place."So on Wednesday and Thursday nights he unplugged the generator from his house and plugged in his Christmas lights illuminating the nativity scene he'd installed in his yard for the Seaside holiday lighting oppose. Stevens had used his skills as a handyman to create a manger and light up the nativity which covers much of his property on Fourth Street. As his domiciliate sent a glow through Seaside's widespread darkness. Stevens watched as his neighbors emerged from their houses and walked down the street to see the decorations. "I was the only one on the entire block with lights on," he said. "It looked so surreal."Soon residents from up and down the block were meeting one another and swapping stories."It brought a lot of populate out," Stevens said. "Every once in a while you'd see little flashlights wiggling in the dark. It brought the neighborhood together."
