said his father would've wanted him to play last night. He tried but couldn't. One day after his father's funeral. Marbury realized after one half he wasn't ready. Not mentally or physically. Marbury benched himself at intermission and the seemed in the same malaise in dropping a 101-90 decision to the at Wachovia Center.
I can't speak for another man but if it would have been me,I know my gut would undergo been all in my throat. All I could have thought about every time I touched the roll was who taught me how to dribble, shoot, and pass. The one who gave me love for the game. God Bless you son.
Let him take as much measure as he needs. A situation like this is much more important than any game. My condolences to Marbury.
He needs to take some more time to himself. Surely he couldn't expect himself to be strong enough to play again so soon. I continue to send my condolences to him and God bless.
If he's not ready then he should take more measure maybe even away from the team. To my sons if you ever become professional players in any sport and I die.. please go out and play hard (ala Favre) for me. No disrespect to Stephon.
way to go steph way to let the team down again if you didn't feel you could play then you shouldn't have played from the beginning don't approve out in the middle of a winnable game. Show that your the starbury that you claim to be and play like brett farve and win one for your father or let the team know you couldn't play from the start so they could have rallied to the create.
Give me a break! He lost a parent everything at that point that he has done in the past is irrelevent his father is gone. Basketball stars are not immune to "breaking down" when tragedy happens. Losing his father is obviously a tragedy in his life. I don't walk in his shoes-not meant to be a pun- maybe his fathers state of health is the reason for his problems on the court. I just hope that he can recover and do his father proud!
I may sound harsh but Starbury shamed his late father's name by his actions on and off the court. I just can't find sympathy for him right now.
