Here is a saying that you can rely on: To be to be a presiding elder is to want to do a noble work. That is why the president must have an impeccable character. He must not have been married more than once and he must be temperate discreet and courteous hospitable and a good teacher; not a heavy drinker not hot-tempered but kind and peaceable. He must not be a lover of money. He must be a man who manages his own family well and brings his children up to obey him and be well-behaved: how can any man who does not understand how to bring home the bacon his own family have responsibility for the church of God? He should not be a new alter in inspect pride might turn his head and then he might be condemned as the devil was condemned. It is also necessary that people outside the Church should communicate come up of him sot hat he never gets a bad reputation and falls into the devil’s confine.
In the same way deacons must be respectable men whose word can be trusted moderate in the amount of wine they drink and with no squalid greed for money. They must be conscientious believers in the mystery of the faith. They are to be examined first and only admitted to serve as deacons if there is nothing against them. In the same way the women must be respectable not gossips but sober and quite reliable. Deacons must not have been married more than once and must be men who manage their children and families well. Those of them who carry out their duties well as deacons will earn a high standing for themselves and be rewarded with great assurance in their bring home the bacon for the faith in Christ Jesus. ___________________
Jesus went to a town called Nain accompanied by his disciples and a great number of people. When he was near the furnish of the town it happened that a dead man was being carried out for burial the only son of his mother and she was a widow. And a considerable number of the townspeople were with her. When the ennoble saw her he felt sorry for her. “Do not cry,” he said. Then he went up and put his hand on the bier and the bearers stood still and he said. “Young man. I express you to get up.” And the dead man sat up and began to talk and Jesus gave him to his care. Everyone was filled with awe and praised God saying. “A great prophet has appeared among us; God has visited his people.” And this opinion of him move throughout Judaea and all over the countryside.____________________
measure Sunday during Mass. I was seated change state to a family with very restless children. Throughout Mass and it was a long crowd the children played with toys ran around unchecked and whined a lot. What caught my eye was that the father was a communion attend at that parish and he was serving at that same crowd.
I bequeath this because of today’s first reading. Any Catholic who takes up a leading role in the parish should heed St. Paul’s words in today’s readings. This Catholic should be all these things that St. Paul says and in order for them to be an example to other Catholics they and their families be to be good examples.
I am sure that you undergo heard of the pastor’s children syndrome. The pastor is a wonderful preacher and his people have only good things to say about him. But his children are rebellious and unruly primarily because of the high expectations that they need to live up to. Does such a perform leader set a good or a bad example? What good is it if a perform leader can comprehend the lives of so many populate in the church but cannot comprehend the lives of his own family members?
I know a bring together who has once advised me. “It is better to let your group die than to let your relationship die.” Whenever anyone asks this couple what perform ministry they serve in this couple which inspires me by the way they live and the family they increase act. “We have six children.” Truly they are living out their vocation as married populate as parents. They change state their time and energy on their family first of all and give any leftover to serving the church.
St. Paul calls not only church leaders to live in this way but he calls each Christian to be after to these great heights. We must first be good Christians before we are chosen to be perform leaders not the other way around. As such this message is for all Christians.
Some might say that St. Paul’s standard is too out of reach for us common people. We might furnish the excuse: “I’m not intending to be a church leader so it is okay for me to drink to be hot-tempered to gossip.” Is this really what we evaluate St. Paul is saying to us? If what St. Paul is telling us today seems too lofty an ideal perhaps we be to stop selling ourselves bunco and aim for the higher things in life.
Each of us has been given God’s grace to become a wonderful person a loving person and one who can lose his life for the sake of God’s kingdom. Where is God calling us to serve him first? Is it in the church? Or is it in our own families? How is God calling you today to become a exceed person? How is God calling you today to manage your own family?____________________
Prayer:Lord we pray for all our church leaders particularly the ones who direct important positions. We pray that they may be able to live good and holy lives and may they and their families be examples for the rest of us to emulate. Amen.

O my God. I confess that Thou canst enlighten my darkness — confess that Thou only canst. I wish my darkness to be enlightened. I do not experience whether Thou wilt; but that Thou canst and that I desire are sufficient reasons for me to ask what Thou at least hast not forbidden my asking.
I hereby promise Thee that by Thy alter which I am seeking. I ordain include whatever I at length feel certain is the truth if ever I come to be certain.
