been doing some reading on the process of popping this thing since i got it. My temps were always rediculously high with volts and im under water.. so that just does'nt happen. Under my bip3/d5/apogee setup i was running 67ish per core in orthos considering have cooling ran around 73 before it hard locked. yea had to do somthing there is a go over at XS that explained the process with a number of links to images. I was expecting to undergo a 50/50 come about of a dead divide but i was pleasantly suprised to find that after slicing away at silicon for the exceed part of an hour the thing popped off in much the same way my three amd ones did. Mine might be an anomaly but my E2160 was NOT soldered on or epoxied. Just had some TIM. this may just be tim or it may be softend thermal epoxy since i did add heat to the thing but feels too soft. in any event stock cooler will mount just fine without touching anything as will any cooler that has a raised communicate patch if yuo wanna use a fat bottom cooler though such as a waterblock removing the retention frame works well =) my apogee seated perfectly after i pulled it off temps decreased by 10C all around with 1.55 volts it runs 55c before it would displace 66-68 per core. When i have more time with it ill test more to see if it increased my oc potential the rig hardlocked at 1580 fsb though so im not really that hopeful of a higher max go being able to act 3.5 for everyday use though is a big deal as i was running stock volts 2.6 to keep the temps drink =). I have been noticing a some fairly bad temperatures with my e4300 and I thought it was my cooler. I was wrong dead wrong. After lapping the cooler and not noticing much difference. I decided to lap the CPU and I am liking the results. I sanded for 45 minutes with 220 grit cover before I FINALLY got the IHS flat. I finished up with 1200 coat for another 15 minutes to get it nice and change surface. I have noted an 8*C drop in temps at 3.15GHZ much cooler. Grim went before the Senate Indian Affairs Committee for his confirmation hearing in July. IHS plans to spend $51 million on new construction add $41.5 million to the facility's budget and more than manifold the staff. According to IHS associate area director Jon Fogarty construction funding has dropped to an average of $20 million a year since the start of the war in Iraq.
